Curiously, the US Government holds the patent on the cannabis plant’s make up of cannabinoids and THC. Despite its medical promises and contrary findings from numerous studies, the Federal Government still labels Marijuana a Schedule 1 drug, which classifies cannabis as:
“having a high potential for abuse, no currently accepted medical use in treatment in the United States, and lack of accepted safety for use of the drug or other substance under medical supervision.”
Clearly current classification is flawed and out-of-touch with modern medicine and American needs. Re‐classification is required, as well as a call to end to prohibition.
